Setting up a course as a membership or subscription with limited time access in Shopify involves creating product variants for different subscription durations and using a subscription app to manage the recurring payments and access. Here’s how you can do it:

Create Product Variants



Access your Shopify admin panel and navigate to the Products section.



Select the Product created for the course.



Creating Subscription Variants
For the course you want to offer as a subscription, create variants for each subscription duration, such as monthly and yearly.

Integrating Subscription Apps
Install and set up a subscription app, like the native Shopify Subscription app or any other compatible app. These apps allow you to manage subscription services directly within Shopify.

How To Configure Shopify Subscription App



Go to Apps



Select Subscriptions



Go to Plans



Monthly Plan



a. Select Monthly



b. Click Browse



c. Connect the Product to the Monthly Variant, the click Select



d. In the Discount and Delivery section, enter the Delivery frequency value and Deliery Interval
Check the Offer Discount box if you offer discount



Yearly Plan



a. Select Yearly



b. Click Browse



c. Connect the Product to the Yearly Variant, the click Select



d. In the Discount and Delivery section, enter the Delivery frequency value and Deliery Interval
Check the Offer Discount box if you offer discount



Link Subscription to the Course



Go to Courses.



Select the specific course.



Click Course Settings



Under Auto enrollment products, click Add Product.



Add the product variants you created for subscriptions then click Add*
Make sure to select both variants (Monthly and Yearly)



Define Access Duration then click Save
For each variant, set the access duration. For example, set 32 days for the monthly variant and 366 days for the yearly variant to account for processing time and leap years.



Membership Enrollment Tags - Advanced Way

This SOP guides on how to configure a course as a subscription or membership in Shopify using membership enrollment tags. The tags determine course access, with automatic access granted to members who possess these tags. This setup is ideal for a Netflix-style membership model, allowing continuous access to a wide range of courses under one subscription. The process involves using a third-party subscription app with active tag features to manage membership access efficiently. By following these steps, you can create a flexible and scalable subscription or membership model for your courses, enhancing user experience and simplifying course management.

Link Tags to the Tevello Course

Tag Activation



Enable Active Tags in Subscription App:
Access the subscription app settings (e.g., Seal) within Shopify. Click here to intsall Seal Subscription

Once you have installed Seal, Go to Settings



Navigate to General Settings.



And then to Customers to activate the tags feature.



Activate tag feature: Check the box to activate tag and then copy the active tag bellow.



Link Tag to the Tevello Course



In your Tevello App, go to Courses



Select the course you wish to put the tag.



Enter the Course Settings to add the tag.



Make sure that you already have the product linked



Click Add Tag to add the active subscription tag.



Paste the tag in the tag field then click enter. Once done click Save
Once set, members with the tagged profile will gain automatic access to the course, and losing the tag will revoke their access.
