New Direct Messages (DMs) Feature



Enable the Direct Messages Feature

Objective: Activate the Direct Messages (DMs) feature in Tevello so members can communicate privately.


  1. Access Settings. In your Tevello admin dashboard, go to Settings.



  1. Locate the Direct Messages Option. Enable Direct Messages by toggling the switch to enable Direct Messages for your store.



  1. Verify the Message Icon



After enabling, a message icon will appear in the top-right corner of the site interface. `This icon will be visible to all members and used to access private messages.


Member-to-Member Messaging Workflow


  1. Access the Community. Go to Communities from the navigation menu.



  1. View the profile or post of another member. Click the Message icon or Send Message button next to the member’s name.



  1. Type a message and click Send.
The receiving member will see a red notification dot on the message icon in the top-right corner.


  1. Reply to the Message. Type a response in the chat window and click Send.



Mobile Notifications


If using the Tevello mobile app, members will receive push notifications on their device when a new message is received.


Members can read and reply to messages directly from their mobile phone.
